Optimize tightening speed and preserve impact wrench performance
To expedite the tightening process during mill lining operations, we propose a two-step approach. Firstly, we suggest pre-tightening with a high-speed impact wrench, provided it is approved by the equipment manufacturer.
Then, for achieving the final torque, the use of an electric tool is recommended. It is crucial to select the appropriate power rating for the impact wrench to prevent over-torque tightening of the bolted joints. Additionally, to prolong the lifespan of the impact wrench, it is advisable to limit trigger usage to no more than 5-7 seconds after completing the bolt run-down.
By implementing this pre-assembly step, you can attain the utmost speed in pre-installation (tightening) of the nuts on the lining bolts. This optimized approach not only streamlines the tightening process but also preserves the performance and longevity of the impact wrench.
